Is a local cabinetmaker better than flat-pack for a new home?

For a new home it usually is, because your cabinetry is drawn for your actual room rather than assembled from standard modules. With no IKEA on the Mid North Coast, the alternatives are a long drive south or an online flat-pack order with generic sizing and self-assembly. We measure, make and install locally, and you deal with the same team throughout. That keeps the fit and the aftercare close to home.

Do you supply benchtops for Thrumster kitchens?

We help you choose a benchtop and coordinate it as part of your kitchen. We do not work with engineered or reconstituted stone, as its manufacture, supply and installation are banned nationally from 1 July 2024, with imports prohibited from 1 January 2025. Instead we point you to compliant options such as natural stone through a licensed stonemason, porcelain, laminate, solid timber or stainless steel. We will explain the trade-offs so you can pick what suits your budget.

Can you match cabinetry to what our builder already installed?

In most cases yes. If your builder has fitted a kitchen and you want matching robes or a laundry, we can work to complement the existing colours and finishes as closely as the available materials allow. We will assess it during the free measure so we are honest about how close a match is achievable. Timber and veneer can also vary with humidity over time, which we will explain.
